Doing things yourself isn’t always a waste of time even if your not experienced. The time one puts toward doing a new chore is educational. It pays off later when you become good at the job. Once your skilled then the chore time is quick and makes up for the slow learning time you had before.

I recently learned this the hard way.

For years I’ve cut my own lawn — but only now realized that if I devoted that 3 hours per week to work I’d at least double the cost of getting a lawn service.
