Common Traits of Successful People

You want to be successful.  You wish you could achieve the same level of success as many of the people you admire.   But how can you get there?  The answer is surprisingly simple.  Study the traits of successful people and develop those traits yourself.  But what exactly are the traits of successful people?  We will take a look at several sources that lay out these traits for you.

In the article Top 10 Traits of Highly Successful People – That You Can Learn!, Philip Humbert lists 10 traits that he found to be common amongst the successful people that he admires.  These are the people who Philip thinks do well in many areas of life and do it over and over again throughout their lives.

The Get Rich Slowly blog has a good guest post from Pinyo called the Seven Traits of Successful People in which the author discusses traits he has observed in successful people and that have worked well for him in his pursuit of success.

Chris Melton of soupornuts.com has written the article Twenty Traits of Successful People, elegantly stating that while successful people are different, they all have some common traits.

It doesn’t matter if it is seven, ten or twenty traits.  As you read through these articles you will start to see a pattern evolving with some of the same traits or characteristics appearing, perhaps under different labels or descriptions, but most reinforcing the same concepts.

The following video discusses the traits of successful people and zooms in on one particular trait that has been crucial to the success of Howard Schultz at Starbucks: persistence.

‘I have a history of people closing doors and me saying: “No, it is still open!”'

Howard Schultz

Studies have shown that the traits of successful people can be learned.  If you apply yourself and diligently practice developing the traits listed from the several sources above, you will certainly achieve success yourself.

  3. Walmart is only on the list cause in most cases it forces itself into a community by eventually being the only place to shop anymore for most items. People only go there (even if they hate the place like i do) because its easier to find a particular item then hunting all over town. the service sucks and consist of workers hiding from you in order to keep from helping you. I use to work at three locations and the conversations always include “this customer did this this customer did that, this customer is stupid cause he asked for this or that…” its a constant hate ring and making fun of people. when a call comes over the intercom for assisting a customer it comes down to flipping a coin or people arguing about whos going to go. after working in three of these walmarts only to see the same thing I am concidering this a regular routine in ALL of them.
Therefore , I ask you… “DO They Really Belong In The Top 500?”
